Feeling Digitally Overloaded: Try Listening Instead
Since March 2020, American society has turned to doing almost everything online. Although the option to turn to the internet for daily life has helped us stay afloat in many ways, it has also overloaded many people with the feeling that they are online ALL of the time. We communicate with everyone via text and email, including friends, family, teachers and doctors. We apply for everything online: jobs, drivers license renewals, financial assistance…everything. We are also encouraged to turn to websites now more than ever for mental health resources and to find pathways to emotional support. For many people, doing ONE MORE THING online, even though we really need the help, is just enough to stop us in our tracks. One suggestion: listen instead. Follow the link below for a list described as including motivating, relaxing, and thought-provoking podcasts, poetry meditations and reflections. Close your eyes and just listen.
