What is the Whole Family Approach?
The Whole Family Approach is prevention rather than crisis driven, and focuses on helping working class families get ahead. It recognizes that families are composed of independent individuals, yet all are interdependent. Accordingly, the Whole Family Approach offers integrated services that produce gradual behavior changes in all family members as they work toward common goals.
Years of research have proven adults and children prosper when there are two responsible, consistent, dependable parents in the home. When it is not possible to have the traditional family, it is always possible to have two responsible, consistent, dependable caregivers, living together or apart, for each family. And it is always possible to have those caregivers working together in the best interests of the child.
By caring for whole people within whole families, and providing informal support, we have successfully helped our families work together to set behavioral objectives and reach their planned goals.
